HEllo, do you know you're an Idiot?
So today I had a great conversation about reality TV. I know we are all sick of reality TV but in some sort of sick way we are addicted to it. It's kinda like late night when you're not hungry but you know there are fritos and bean dip in the house so you go downstairs and open up the big bag and start eating....you know it's wrong. YOU know it's disgusting and You wouldn't do it in public....but when no one is watching....why the hell not! Anyway, back to reality TV. So I am wondering what most people who are on reality TV sign a contract from television producers telling them "I understand that when I agree to be on TV I will be portrayed as an idiot....and I am OK with that". Well I have watched reality tv for a few years now and I know that it is some good stuff. But I have recently informed of a new reality show called "Jersey Shore". It is all over the news. MTV is airing this show and let me tell you they love the controversy. You all know....controversy = ratings. Just look ..I think MTV ( along with the Internet and gun powder) will be the end of our great yet naive country.
OK so back to Jersey Shore...I understand is about young Italian Americans who are put into a "real world" like setting and cameras roll. The girls are whores the guys are whores on steroids with hair gel. They are proud to call themselves "guidos". So I read in an upcoming episode one of the girls gets punched in the face (hard) by a guido. Is MTV proud to be airing this "teaser" what are they doing...playing off this whole Chris Brown vs Rhianna situation? MTV is no longer about music anymore. It is about showing us how jacked up our country is and the crazy thing is ...most of it is their fault.!! My super stupid 16.....that reality show with DJ AM (can anyone say ironic?)... OK OK while I am dissing MTV for putting crap on the air....let me equal opportunity diss...how about VH1 ( and I love vh1 classic) Flavor of Love. and Rock of Love.... crazy TV...I must also mention fox for putting out crap like Family Guy.....I know you all love it but it is poison...and the new 90210 ( which I am addicted to....yeah I know ...it's pretty pathetic)... Well at least it isn't reality tv. My question to Jersey Shore is this....do they know they look like horrible jokes? Do you really think they look cool? Do you think MTV told them they wanted to let them shine? But in "reality" do they sit in the editing booth and laugh their asses off....and try to put every embarrassing thing they can film and hope for some great ratings? Controversy....yes. but when hasn't MTV been about controversy. Can someone call Adam Lambert for me? Didn't we just talk about this the other day??? Oh well...it 's almost time for 90210 and Real World vs Road Rules....so I gotta go...oh yeah and I know...I'm a hypocrite...so what....whatevers. - I
